Rules for Retake and Repeat the Course

All students of RUDN have the right to 3 attempts to complete an intermediate attestation for each discipline:

Intermediate attestation is a test that the student passes through the results of mastering the discipline at the end of the semester

In the usual sense, this is a session at the end of each semester or module (as opposed to the final state attestation, which students take at the end of the course and which includes the state exam and, for most areas of training and specialties, defense of the graduation qualification work or master's thesis.

Retake

  • Automatic retake

If the student did not score the required number of points for a positive assessment at the first trial, the retake is assigned “automatically”.

The student comes to trials on dates specified in the retake schedule at the faculty/institute/academy.

  • Repeated retake

If you have not passed the attestation test the second time, you will be assigned for a third attempt (with a commission) to pass the exam.

You can learn about the date of this attempt from the retake schedule or at the dean's office/directorate of your faculty, institute or academy.

  • Last attempt (with a commission)

If you did not pass the test on the third attempt, this is the basis for the student’s submission to expulsion.

The final decision on the expulsion is made by the dean’s commission.

  • Pass the retake

If a student missed one of the attempts to pass the test for a good reason (this must be confirmed by document), he will be assigned another date for passing the test. To do this, you must contact the dean's office / directorate of the educational unit.

Expulsion

If you did not pass the test on the third attempt, this is the basis for the student’s submission to expulsion. The final decision on the expulsion is made by the dean’s commission.
