Scholarship Support

A scholarship is a monetary payment that is given to students in order to stimulate and (or) to support them in mastering the educational programs.

Scholarship or any other types of material support are provided in accordance with the "Decree on provision of scholarships and other forms of material support to RUDN University students".

Scholarships are given before 26 of each month.

State Academic Scholarships

State academic scholarships are a monetary grant to students from the state.

From the beginning of the academic year and until the first intermediate certification, the state academic scholarship is granted to all first-year students.

Based on the results of the first interim evaluation, the State Academic scholarship is assigned to the students (RF, full-time, a student funded by federal budget) under the following conditions:

If students pass the session exams with good and excellent grades; i.e. according to ECTS grades there shall be no "D", “E”, “FX”, “F” grades.
If they don’t fail any academic assignment.

The state academic scholarship may be established in differentiated amounts for the following categories of students:

Students who have “excellent” (“A”, “B”) academic grades according to the results of midterm assessment (module).
Students (winners and prize-winners of the final stage of the All-Russian Schoolchildren Olympiad, winners and prize-winners of schoolchildren Olympiads from the list of the Ministry of Education and Science of Russia, enrolled in the university without entrance examinations, as well as enrolled in the university according to the results of the Unified State Examination (USE) with the highest sum of points, taking into account the points for individual achievements.

To foreign citizens and stateless persons, studying on a full-time basis at the expense of budgetary allocations of the federal budget within the quota established by the Government of the Russian Federation or international treaties of the Russian Federation, in accordance with which such persons are enrolled in training, which provide for the payment of state academic scholarship, the state academic scholarship to students shall be assigned during the entire period of training, regardless of academic success.

Foreign citizens and stateless persons (enrolled in the general competition), except for the above students, the state academic scholarship is paid in the order determined for citizens of the Russian Federation.

State Social scholarship

State social scholarship is a scholarship awarded to students in need of social assistance.

State social scholarships are granted to full-time students after submission of a corresponding application form and a certificate obtained at the Social protection body.

The certificate is valid during one year of the date of issue or the date stated on the certificate.

In addition (in the presence of a document confirming compliance), to the following categories:

orphans and children left without parental care;
persons from among orphans and children left without parental care;
disabled children, persons with disabilities of groups I and II, and persons disabled since childhood;
persons exposed to radiation as a result of the Chernobyl disaster and other radiation disasters, as a result of nuclear tests at the Semipalatinsk test site;
persons, students who are disabled as a result of a military injury or disease received during military service, and veterans of combat operations, as well as students from among citizens who have performed military service under contract for at least three years in military positions to be filled by soldiers, sailors, sergeants, petty officers, and dismissed from military service on the grounds provided for in paragraphs. “b” – “d” of clause 1, clauses. “a” p. 2 and subparagraphs. “Article 51, paragraph 3, subparagraphs (a) to (c), of Federal Act No. 53 of March 28, 1998 “On military duty and military service”.

The amount of the state social scholarship is determined by the Academic Council of the University and cannot be less than the standards established by the Government of the Russian Federation (from 3500 rubles per month).

Personalized scholarships

The amount of the scholarship of the President of the Russian Federation and the scholarship of the Government of the Russian Federation shall be established by state normative acts.

The amount of scholarships shall be established by the founders of personalized scholarships.

Material Support

The scholarship fund provides funds to support financially students in need (full-time students).

The decision to provide one-time financial aid is made by the Scholarship Commission of the relevant faculty, institute, academy, school (or the Scholarship Commission of the University) on the basis of the student's personal application and documents confirming the need for material support.

When providing material support to students, the opinion of the student group and the trade union organization is taken into account.
